Species

There are five species of amphibian which have been recorded in Derbyshire:

  • Common frog
  • Common toad
  • Great-crested newt
  • Smooth newt
  • Palmate newt


BAP Species

The great crested newt and the common toad are only amphibian species in Derbyshire to be recognised as a UK and LBAP Priority Biodiversity Species.

 

Derbyshire Amphibian and Reptile Group

The Derbyshire Amphibian and Reptile Group record and monitor amphibian populations.
